The Freedom Rock 10th Anniversary!

Dan & I made the Memorial weekend trip out to Iowa! What a wonderful state full of such Patriotic Americans! The weather was amazing, during the days, but tumultuous at night! Many tornados hit the area through the evening hours! A visit to the Iowa National Guard Base proved to be a lovely experience. The accommodations there top-rate! The staff dedicated and professional! We headed Sunday morning out to "The Rock." After months of corresponding with "Bubba" the artist and his beautiful bride we had a wonderful welcome from the community.  Greenfield, IA is a charming town in the HEART of America! Its citizens truly DO care about the Fallen, Troops and Veterans!

The opening ceremony to pay tribute to the Fallen, Veterans and Troops was
extremely beautiful. Viewing the face of the rock was moving, however
rounding the bend to see the side, proved overwhelming. Suddenly I was
looking into the faces of our Fallen Medal of Honor recipients. The parents
of these American Treasures should know what a Unique Tribute "Bubba"  has
created!

Meeting Ray "Bubba" Sorenson was a delight. He is an unassuming,
gracious, talented young man! What parent wouldn't be Proud to call him
their own! His family is dedicated to his efforts in every way. Ray has a
most Profound and Special gift, REVERENCE! Humility is his most endearing
trait! All the while he was receiving well deserved appreciation for his
artistic message, he continued to reflect his Respect for those he Honors.

I asked "Bubba" at his art show in town if he would write a message on a
"Patriotic Pillow" cover. I explained the "Patriotic Pillows" are never to
be sold! They are gifts to our Gold Star Families, Healing Heroes &
Veterans! This is what he wrote; "All of you Soldiers are my inspiration.
Thank You is not enough."        Ray "Bubba" Sorenson II

"Bubba" also too wrote a personal message on a photo of his 2008 Tribute, to
the Murphy Family! Dan Murphy is the father of Michael Patrick Murphy. Dan
is a comrade member of the National Military Order of the Purple Heart
Association. Maureen; Michael's Mom, Dan; his Father,  as well as his
brother would have been very Proud to see Michael REMEBERED in this way!  I
was moved to tears, from the likeness and obvious devotion done through
these portraits!

"Bubba" it was an Honor to meet such a fine young man such as yourself! It
is obvious why you are so grounded, your Patriotism emanates from your
Family! Thank You for allowing us to be a part of a DECADE Celebration of
Your DEVOTION! The Heart of America beats in the Heartland!
